Do you like medical grade facials that feel space-age and futuristic or to be wrapped in warm blankets and have your soul soothed as much as your skin? I like both to be honest! I have always had acne prone and very problematic skin. But I like to be pampered and for my me-time to have a holistic emphasis. For the last few months I have been getting the customised facial with LED light therapy from Sarah in Infinity Aesthetics, Portmarnock, Co Dublin, about every four weeks give or take. Not only is Sarah a gorgeous person inside and out, but she is very knowledgeable and an amazing facialist.
Your facial starts with deep cleansing of your skin. Sarah then analysis your skin. If you have been misusing facial tan she can tell! For me she usually choses an advanced exfoliation, professional grade, followed by customised jelly mask for soothing and hydrating effect. This process includes extractions, blackheads on my nose have long been an issue. Getting them out is not blissful, but totally necessary and very satisfying! To boost our results we finish off the facial with LED light therapy.
LED is a light treatment that is used to help repair and rejuvenate skin. It encourages collagen to stimulate and rebuild, to rejuvenate the skin. It was discovered in NASA, developed for quick healing of injuries and the anti-ageing effect was discovered. Science fans like me would love to know that NASA originally developed it for plant growth experiments on shuttle missions and later found it to have promise for wound treatment as there is no gravity, oxygen, or sunlight , skin injuries did not heal.. so they invented LED light to promote skin healing.
As a bonus Light therapy is a way to treat seasonal affective disorder (SAD) and certain other conditions by exposure to artificial light. Some experts measured benefits of LED lights to include healthier brains and access to a deeper sleep, but also improved concentration and energy, lower stress and anxiety and increased motivation.
LED, or light emitting diode therapy, is a skincare treatment that uses varying wavelengths of light , used by some aestheticians to help regenerate the skin from aging. It’s also used for acne and to give the skin an over all health glow.
I went as far as purchasing my own LED light from Sarah’s online shop to use at home. It plugs into your phone, laptop or device and automatically goes through a programe of light therapy. I use it for my skin care and indeed self-care in between facials.
